How Hydrogen Fuel Cell works

  There has been lot of talk about hydrogen fuel cell and its advantages particularly in reducing the carbon footprint.  Many OEMs are working day and night to make this technology commercially viable. The Japanese OEMS in particular are having atleast one hybrid technology with them. Many government of various developed countries are showering funds to drive projects related to alternate fuel.  But what is this technology and how does it work?  A fuel cell continues to produce electricity as long as it is supplied with fuel and oxygen. In the typical fuel cell used in transportation, that's hydrogen and air. A battery produces essentially no emissions and little heat, while a hydrogen fuel cell emits water and more heat.
